Oktoberfest: What you missed as beer dominated stomachs

Oktoberfest Thing! Beer and food….

Oktoberfest is some other event enjoyed by revelers across the world. Now Kampala beer lovers were not left behind too in this as they also converged at the Uganda Museum grounds to join in the festivities.

The annual event, being held in Uganda for the 5th time, is a rendition of the world’s largest beer and food festival. Oktoberfest is the world’s largest Volksfest (beer festival and travelling funfair). Held annually in MunichBavariaGermany, it is a 16- to 18-day folk festival running from mid or late September to the first Sunday in October, with more than six million people from around the world attending the event every year.

Revelers enjoyed a mix of German and Ugandan cultures paraded throughout the event through fashion showcases, music and most importantly food with the Guest of Honor, Dr Albrecht Conze, German Ambassador applauding the crowd for their fiery enthusiasm.

The evening got even better with the breathtaking performances from Qwela and the Karma Queen herself, Sheebah Karungi who had fans singing along to favourites like, “Wankona” “Nkwatako” “Silwana” throughout her performance.
