Kamwenge district local government yesterday launched the construction of a 16.67km Bigodi-Kahondo-Busiriba-Bunoga road.
The launching was held at two areas of Bigodi town council play ground and Busiriba sub-county headquarters in Kamwenge district officiated by the resident district commissioner Kamwenge Cadre Geoffrey Mucunguzi.
The said road has been impassable for the last year paralyzing businesses in the area among farmers due to potholes and causing different reactions to some leaders.
Now, addressing residents who witnessed the road construction launch yesterday Annet Kobusinge the Kamwenge district engineer said, over 46million shillings will be used to work on the road.
Aggrey Natuhamya the Kamwenge district Chairperson appealed community to engage themselves in supervision towards good work upon their road.
Johnbosco Tumuhimbise the district Speaker commended team work among district leaders towards service delivery to people thus calling upon public always to appreciate the work done by the district leaders.
Residents of Busiriba and Bigodi town council who talked to our reporter expressed joy saying that they have been denied access to good roads.
Azairwe Dorothy Nsheijah Kabarisa Woman MP Kamwenge and Birungi Joseph secretary for works Kamwenge doubles district councilor representing Kamwenge town council also witnessed the launching of road construction.
